At Jonsson Workwear, we believe in creating a better world, every day.
Inspired by Nelson Mandela’s words that “You can start changing our world for the better daily, no matter how small the action”, Jonsson Workwear has teamed up with Bay Union, JT Ross and The Sharks to launch the PLOG Squad campaign on Mandela Day. This will be an ongoing drive to clean up the streets in our neighbourhood, around the Jonsson Kings Park precinct.
So, what is Plogging? It is a fitness craze for people who want to save the planet. The term plogging is a mash-up of pick up litter as you jog or walk. And it’s a great way to incorporate cleaning the environment into daily exercise. Besides the benefits of getting fit and showing our pride in our great city, the intention is to inspire a green consciousness in the community. Together with Wildlands, a Recycling Village will be created in the area with mentorship support from JT Ross, and the Denis Hurley Foundation will run eco-audit training for those interested in improving their footprint, with tips on how to save costs on water, electricity and waste.
“Our community and the upliftment of it remains a key value for The Sharks, and we are delighted to partner with our naming rights sponsor, Jonsson Workwear and our neighboring businesses on this project which commences on Mandela Day. Our collaborative aim is to make a lasting difference, and this speaks to the legacy of our beloved Tata Madiba”, added The Sharks PR Manager, Novashni Chetty.
We hope to see the wider community PLOG in their neighbourhoods. It is an easy way to make a difference, every day.
